"Wikipedia Entry on Viral Marketing" Blog Post#10-Remix

Updated: Jul 30, 2018

In my ENC 2135 class, our teacher has asked that we create a format in which we can convey three genres for third remix project. After much class discussion, most of us have decided that we’re going to do a viral marketing presentation. Viral Marketing is a more commonly used from of advertising in the 21st century, conquering the world of media concepts from technology as old as the television, to the new and improved ways of today’s internet sites. For my project on the Marching Chiefs I will be using the social media site “Instagram,” since that is one of the most commonly used sites today; with all the bad things going on with Facebook at this moment in time. In the Wikipedia article that we had to read this week, the main thing that it kept reiterating was that no matter the format, the advertisement has to be appealing to your specific audience that you were trying to reach; whether that be an entire population, or just a small group of people. This is another reason that Instagram is a great social media app-site for me to take advantage of because I’m trying to target a younger audience that is nearly-obsessed with smartphones and tablets 24/7. On my Instagram site, I’m also going to include a biography for the Marching Chiefs, as well as post pictures of the posters that will be hanging around Cawthon Hall, and people who are planning on joining the band (included with what they are most excited about).
