BBG Ch.15 "Assembling a Multigenre Project"Remix-Blog#8

In the Bedford Book of Genres, Chapter 15 discusses the topic of creating a multigenre presentation. Right now in my ENC 2135 class, we’re preparing to work on our third “remix” project, which is quite literally what is discussed in this chapter. In it, we’re selecting three genres, and morphing them into a presentation for one singular topic. During one of my classes, my teacher, Mat Wenzel, made us create specific examples of genres. After this lesson, we were able to comprehend that a genre can include concepts as simple as a yard side, to something as broad as a newspaper article. For my project, I’m planning on creating an Instagram account, and then creating a biography summary with band posts. One of these posts will include a picture of a poster(s) I’ll be hanging up around the Cawthon music hall. The things I really like about this specific project is that there really isn’t any bounds (besides the civility clause of course) that you can’t cross to get your message across to your selected audience. Reading this chapter was very insightful, because while I already knew that using social media would have a great chance of reaching a 21st century audience, the chapter also encouraged the use of audio compositions. This is something I could definitely do, especially with the Summer C Band concert coming up on July 30th. Overall, Chapter 15 of the BBG was a great summary study on how to compose multiple genres into one project, and it was very helpful in helping me decide how I want to set it up.

I like how you included a real life application of this chapter. I also think that your project is heading in the right direction.
