"Insight into Past Classes" Blog Post#9-Remix

Updated: Jul 28, 2018

This week my teacher decided to show us examples of online student portfolios from his past classes. Afterwards he asked us to choose one of their wix websites, and write about it. I chose to in particularly look at Tristan Garcia’s final portfolio. The first thing I noticed about his website was that it was very colorful, and overall very eye catching. His website was almost mystical, and it made me really rethink about how I want to design my wix page. It made me contemplate whether there’s a difference between the material you create, and how you present it. I also took a look at some of his entries, and his most recent post was his class reflection. Reading that made me feel a lot better about my process, because he described similar difficulties that I had had about focusing in on one particular subject. Tristan also put most of his works and blog posts in MLA format, which I thought was a little odd considering the fact that Mat said that he prefer that we didn’t put our stuff in MLA since these are blog posts, and we only really need to do MLA format whenever when email him documents. I don’t think I want to change my website to MLA format, but it was certainly interesting to see how different people formatted their wix blogs to make them organized, memorizing, and interesting. The assignment itself to see how other people presented their projects in the past is something I think all students should have access to do in any class.
